The Systems Engineer will be responsible designing, developing, modifying, adapting and implementing short- and long-term solutions to information technology needs through new and existing applications, systems, databases and applications infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic role, will work with team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues
- Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
- Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
- Integrate servers, including on-premises and Cloud Based servers
- Ensure system connectivity of all servers
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration and processes
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems
- Monitor and test system performance
- Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems
- Ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions
- Monitor, maintain, support and optimize all networked HW/SW and associated operating systems
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience directly supporting both on-prem and cloud environments
- Experience managing virtual environments on hypervisors such as Hyper-V or VMWare
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and to effectively multi-task
- Flexibility to take on other duties and roles as needed
- The ability to learn new skills and keep current with rapidly changing information technology and ability to transfer knowledge to team members and users
- Strong documentation and system diagramming skills
