Director of Marketing

Our client is searching for a Director of Marketing who will will function as the Brand Champion working with the CEO and head of marketing to define the evolving brand identity and leading the establishment and communication of the brand. You will serve as the key strategic leader and oversee the development and execution of all trade marketing activities and act as the department liaison.

You will be responsible for creating and implementing marketing and communication plans, development and creation of collateral, and for all areas of trade marketing including working with in-house and external resources. You will be an essential part of the editorial and communication strategy team and lead the overall development of short-range marketing activities and long-range marketing planning.

Responsibilities:

  • While leading trade marketing, also works closely with management and the sales team to define marketing objectives and plan marketing strategies and budgets to realize the goals of the company
  • Support the growth of the company through M&A support
  • Develops marketing programs and aligns the strategy to organizational goals and the nature of the market
  • Partner with Sales Management, Editorial and Education to align all communication to the brand messages as well as to meet the ongoing needs of Marketings internal customers
  • Conceives and executes marketing strategies and programs to increase the profitability of new and existing products and services
  • Expands brand presence in current customer channels, while significantly strengthening/building brand presence with consumers
  • In partnership with the Education Team and Sales, develops and executes programs that enhance our customers business skills/acumen and enhances their profitability
  • Translate business department objectives and strategies to prepare brand portfolio objective, plans, strategies to facilitate the growth of these business units
  • Track success rate and performance of on-going promotional, advertising and marketing campaigns
  • Manage the professional website including deciding what content gets placed, creating new content and reviewing analytics of use to improve retention and use
  • Build a world-class marketing group, budget and needs dependent, to service the areas of focus and guide it through its next chapter of growth
  • Develop an ongoing organizational design to support growth

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree, MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing in the CPG industry
  • 3+ years of experience in a marketing leadership role effectively defining and communicating a vision for the Companys brand and products
  • Ability to lead a group of motivated individuals with strength and appropriate finesse, mentor junior members of the team and guide senior executives through marketing plans, budgets and strategic initiatives
  • Proven track record of working with outside agencies and crafting relevant campaigns for existing as well as newly created products and services
  • Willing to roll up the sleeves and directly take on key projects
  • Outstanding project management and execution skills
  • Solid planning and organizing skills
  • Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to prioritize a spectrum of needs and meet targets and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
